NEW PATTERN MEETING THE OLD RESORT PLACE

Master studio | One semester
A new autonomous pattern is juxtaposed with Santo Domingo’s existing city
grid. At the same time, an undulating topography creates multiple horizons of
familiar places. A floating tourist resort anchored in the Ozama River focuses the
city’s attention while maintaining a distance, something required by the notion
of resort. Spaces inhabited by water, sounds and ships, constantly shifting and
adapting, create a very site-specific place.
