Service Design 1
Simon Clatworthy, Andrian Pauslen
Many of today’s designers are designing
products that are part of services, or even
designing the services themselves. The
course teaches the skills necessary to be
able to carry out design work together with
service providers. The course focuses on
designing for memorable service experienc-
es and is based upon the AT-ONE service
innovation approach that has been devel-
oped at AHO. During the spring of 2012
students worked with Posten Bring Dialog
to improve their market position and ser-
vice offering.
Service Design 2
Simon Clatworthy, Mauricy Filho,
Ted Matthews and Berit Lindquister
Service Design 2 has a research by design
focus. This course focuses on three specific
aspects of service design research at AHO,
and addresses larger service design issues
that influence design for service experienc-
es. Students worked on three specific tasks:
a) Understanding the sacred and ritual and
using this to design service experiences. b)
Transforming brand strategy into customer
experiences. C) Developing tangible objects
that can be used to enhance discussions
about business strategy.
