Architectural Studies
Urbanism
Elisabeth Ulrika Sjødahl, Minna Riska,
Halvor Weider Ellefsen, Mirza Mujezinovic
and Marianne Skjulhaug
The course provides basic training in the
history, theory, methods and practices of
urbanism, urban planning and complex
architectural projects. Students develop and
present large urban development projects
with realistic frames and conditions. Project
work consists of urban analysis, project
development and presentation. Studies of
underlying social, physical, economic and
architectural potentials are translated into
urban transformation projects.
City and Architecture
Elisabeth Ulrika Sjødahl, Minna Riska,
Halvor Weider Ellefsen, Mirza Mujezinovic,
Marianne Skjulhaug, Henning Kaland,
Ellen Hellsten, Jon Julian Lynghjem,
Tanja Lie and Martina Keitch
The course integrates aspects from the
preceding semesters. It reflects the com-
plexity of the practice of architecture,
where a multitude of approaches are
possible. Students work individually and
independently, and have to investigate and
prioritize knowledge sources and methods,
in order to negotiate the encounter between
a complex program and an urban context.
Students are required to have completed
and passed the Examen Philosophicum.
