Architecture and Film:
Morphology of Body and Space
Professor rolf Gerstlauer
This course considers the production and
representation of architectural space in film
as an investigation towards a discursive
space in video and film.
Structures, Materials and
Manufacturing (STrUMA)
Professor Bjørn N. Sandaker
The course identifies and discusses margin-
al and advanced structures in architecture,
their materiality and technological basis.
The main intention for the course is to
offer knowledge of structural possibilities,
materials and manufacturing technologies
beyond the common day-to-day practice
of architecture, acting in support of stu-
dio-based master courses.
Photography in Practice
PhD Fellow Pavlina Lucas
Photography in Practice
explores photo-
graphic practice as part of the creative pro-
cess towards an architecture. Activating in-
tuition, promoting awareness, and building
an architectural intention. This exploration
culminates in the production of a site-spe-
cific artifact charged with the spatial theme
disclosed through the process, a first step
towards an architectural presence.
Mapping of the Barents Sea
Assistant Professor Neven
Fuchs-Mikac
As an introduction to the master course, the
exploratory maps have been developed to
extrude the coordinates of architectural
space of the Barents Sea. The Barents is
seemingly an untouched territory. In reality
it is a space of high activity and production,
inhabited and strictly regulated. The inten-
tion is to map and represent the phenomena
and conditions that will generate ideas on
architectural ocean space – its light, tem-
perature, wind, ecologies and resources,
and expose its architectural potential.
Professional Practice
Adjunct Professor Tarald Lundevall
The course deals with architecture as pro-
fession. Legal and procedural frames and
regulations for planning and construction
of buildings, different roles and responsibil-
ities of architects, and alternative ways of
organising architectural work are presented.
The course consists of lectures and semi-
nars, visits to offices and building sites, and
studies of relevant literature.
