Introduction to Architecture III Design Studio: Urban Housing
FOUNDATION SECOND YEAR | TWO-WEEK WORKSHOP
This workshop gave students the chance to enrich their flats with their own
furniture designs. The workshops were run by Professor Magne Magler Wig-
gen with an initiative from byggutengrenser.no. Byggutengrenser provided
utilities and formwork materials. The companies Contiga, Loe Rørprodukter,
NorBetong, Opplandskebetongsindustri, Spenncon, Unicon and Weber also
participated, ensuring a supply of concrete and labs overseen by experienced
concrete workers. Master mason Petter Kiese trained students in the use of
an angle grinder with sanding pad. Though the process filled the construction
hall with concrete dust, it nevertheless provided proper finish work on the
cast products. After sanding sessions Per Rismark from Sika provided a range
of finishing products.
