AHO WORKS STUDIES 2012-2013
Highlights
The Oslo Project
has developed a model for multidisci-
plinary education and research by full-scale production
of small building modules. AHO cooperates with Oslo
and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences,
the Oslo School for Continued Vocational Education and
Sogn Vocational School. Leading research institutions and
industrial partners have contributed with know-how and
state of the art products. Innovative solutions for structur-
al joints and indoor climate control have been developed
and implemented. In May 2013 the first building module
was ready for transport to a site for further testing.
DogA (The Norwegian Design and Architecture Centre)
hosted the design exhibition titled
Bridge
, during the
summer of 2013. It marked the start of a collaboration
between the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHIO)
and AHO, with the aim of strengthening the design pro-
fession in Norway.
Bridge
exhibited around 40 selected
student projects, showing the status of design today, and
suggested exciting and new developments in the future
horizon. The selected student projects demonstrated the
breadth of our design profession and represented some
of the most exciting happenings in Norwegian design in
2013. Cecilie Broch Knudsen, Rector at KHiO opened the
exhibition together with Stein Rokseth, Dean of the De-
partment of Design at KHiO, and Rachel Troye, Head of
the Institute of Design at AHO.
