THE DYNAMIC RIVER LINE
KARI SANNE HAVNEVIK
Supervisor: Peter Hemmersam
This project proposes three simple steps to create a new trail
system in the Romsdalen valley that will give locals and tour-
ists new ways of experiencing the river landscape. In the long
term, this solution would be financially beneficial for land-
owners and local communities. By connecting existing roads
and paths into a unified network, and by removing obstacles
to increased accessibility, the river is reactivated. A compre-
hensive network of walking trails provides an opportunity for
exciting explorations on one of the most spectacular moun-
tain and river sceneries in the country. The project identifies
three geographical areas where different systems and net-
works intersect and potentials for new configurations emerge.
The three landscapes exemplify different approaches to
themes that can be introduced in many other locations along
the entire length of the river.
