          is a sock that increases blood circulation using negative pressure. The
        
        
          sock can be used in prevention against chronic ulcers and pain caused by nerve
        
        
          damage. This is especially beneficial for the elderly with diabetes. The main
        
        
          design features include a soft shell construction with an integrated hard struc-
        
        
          ture, making the sock flexible, while preventing implosion when negative pres-
        
        
          sure is applied. The pump unit situated on the backside of the leg creates the
        
        
          vacuum. The pump can be detached for recharging and removed when clean-
        
        
          ing and sterilisation of the sock is needed. The inside of the unit has a pattern
        
        
          to allow air flow between the skin and the sock and allows negative pressure to
        
        
          be created uniformly around the foot. The sock can easily be adjusted to differ-
        
        
          ent leg thicknesses by the flap in the front opening.
