execution of the project.
The successful project application responded
to a call within the Research Council´s new,
large BIONÆR program. The program requires
integral perspectives on bio-economical val-
ue-chains and resource cycles. The call asked
for research relevant to increased use of wood
in urban buildings. The consortium establishes
a multidisciplinary and international group of
architects, engineers, wood technologists and
mycologists. Focus will be put on solutions
that are easily integrated into architecture of a
high and sustained quality. A network of highly
merited Norwegian architects is associated to
the team of researchers. They will act as com-
petent and critical partners in the definition
and execution of research tasks. The project
themes are structured in five work packages:
INCREASED USE OF WOOD IN URBAN AREAS – WOOD/BE/BETTER
