Could you digitalize a human-driven contest system that costs the paper it’s written on, and
replace it with an app? This project believed so. Based on real experiences from organizing
skateboard contests with producer Joakim Wang, the aim was to create an effective system
that eliminated the use of paper, print and Excel. With Per Olav Hetland, the president of the
Norwegian skateboard organization, we looked into scoring, user needs and contexts. It was
crucial to respect the spirit of the sport. Contests aren’t just about winning. They are also about
performing under fair conditions.
Blimey! Contest Manager
is a unique live-scoring app that simplifies the process of organizing
sport contests. It offers the entire essentials for a contest event, and easy scoring with helpful
visuals. Blimey provides a registration system, a dynamic schedule and fully customizable con-
test formats, results services and export options. No matter the location or size of the contest,
Blimey!
works wirelessly between multiple users. Therefore,
Blimey!
provides info, stories, and
live-results to the spectators through a fast and responsive web.
