In nursing homes 80% of residents suffer from dementia. Input and stimulus is proven to help

reduce the use of medicine, avert uneasiness, as well as to prevent illness for dementia suffer-

ers. There are many tools and initiatives available to activate dementia patients, but barriers

such as time often prevent them from being in daily use in nursing homes.

“My last home” aims at creating a better day for both residents and employees in nursing

homes. The system reorganises the employees’ daily tasks into distinct areas of responsibility.

This clarification of tasks frees time for the employees’ to spend with the residents and give

          them a richer last home.

The system is communicated through visual and physical elements. These elements serve

as tools to maintain the system in a hectic workday. Our project is a result of workshops,

observation and co-creation with employees at the Paulus nursing home in Oslo.
