ARTS AND CRAFTS
Many of the members of the Crafts
Centre, Konsthantverkscentrum, are
self-employed, producing works
on a small scale. This contributes
towards a more resource-aware
and sustainable society. Nurturing
small-scale production, unique
objects and individual forms of
expression is what gives craftsman-
ship its power. Visit an exhibition
in which craftspeople working in
Sweden display beautiful objects
made thoughtfully and with care.

Bland Konsthantverkscentrums anslutna är det många som arbetar
med småskalig produktion i egen regi. Det bidrar till ett mer
resursmedvetet och hållbart samhälle. Värnandet om småskalighet, unika
föremål och egna uttryck gör konsthantverket kraftfullt. Se utställningen
där konsthantverkare verksamma i Sverige visar föremål som är
gjorda med omsorg och eftertanke!

CRAFT DYING LAB WORKSHOP
I Craft Dying Lab visar anrika
Handarbetets Vänner hantverket
shibori. Shibori är en japansk
färgningsteknik där man knyter och
doppar tyget för att skapa olika
mönster med reservage-metoden.
Exempelvis har Oscar De La Renta
använt sig av tekniken i plagg som
synts frekvent på bland annat Anna
Dello Russo.
Shibori används också ofta som
mönstringsmetod för inredningstextil
som i form av kuddar eller hand-
dukar blir unik i sitt uttryck.
I Craft Dying Lab kan du som
besökare själv prova på att färga
tillsammans med Handarbetets
Vänners experter. Välkommen!

CRAFT DYING LAB WORKSHOP
In Craft Dying Lab, the Friends of
Handicraft/Handarbetets Vän-
ner, one of the oldest and most
distinguished handicraft and textile
institutions in Sweden, is showca-
sing Shibori. Shibori is a Japanese
technique for tie dyeing fabrics in
different shapes to make different
patterns using a resist-dyeing met-
hod. Fashion designer Oscar De
La Renta has used the technique on
clothes often worn by Anna Dello
Russo and others.Shibori is also
frequently used for home furnishing
fabrics.
Visitors can try the dyeing
technique together with The Friends
of Handicraft experts. Welcome!
