          The Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO) offers a
        
        
          unique research-based education of international standing.
        
        
          Established in 1945, today it maintains solid national funding,
        
        
          international distinctions and prominent rankings. The school
        
        
          promotes a studio-based environment with a low faculty to stu-
        
        
          dent ratio of one to eight that encourages individual develop-
        
        
          ment and collaboration.
        
        
          AHO offers a five- or five-and-a-half-year master degree
        
        
          to best equip the student to enter directly into professional
        
        
          practice, research or advanced academic study. AHO awards
        
        
          three degrees: Master of Architecture, Master of Landscape
        
        
          Architecture and Master of Industrial Design. Within these
        
        
          degrees students may specialise in the fields of architecture,
        
        
          landscape  architecture and urbanism, industrial design, inter-
        
        
          action design, service design and systems oriented design.
        
        
          The first three years of the programme are considered the
        
        
          Foundation and the last two, or two and a half years, theMaster.
        
        
          While AHO does not offer a bachelors degree, the Foundation
        
        
          is accepted as an equivalent. After successfully completing the
        
        
          Foundation, all AHO students are eligible for entry into the
        
        
          AHOmasters programme or a masters programme at any other
