of large research projects funded by the VERDIKT pro-
gram at the Research Council of Norway. The network

KICK stands for Knowledge, Innovation, and Com-
mercializing Knots for design research within digital
heritage. This Nordic level university-based network
project, Culture KICK in full, builds and exchanges
knowledge on research, innovation and education
related to issues of design in digital cultural heritage.

This EU project aims to apply service design think-
ing to the tourism sector and particularly to develop
tourism-specific researchmethods, such as mobile eth-
nography. Based on the prototype of a tourism-specif-
ic mobile ethnography application myServiceFellow

, the project strives to
further develop the application and evaluate its usa-
bility in practice through seven pilot projects in various
European tourism destinations.

OCEAN DESIGN RESEARCH ASSOCIATION

Founded in 1994, OCEAN has been registered in Nor-
way since 2008 as a not-for-profit association conduct-
ing interdisciplinary research in design and is active-
ly represented in Aalborg, Barcelona, Copenhagen,
Gothenburg, Istanbul, London, Oslo and Stockholm.
The mission of OCEAN is to conduct inter- and trans-
disciplinary research by design in its specific areas of
inquiry. At AHO the network is lead by the Director of
RCAT, Professor Michael U. Hensel
