Welcome to AHO WORKS STUDIES 2012-2013. This book presents and cele-
brates a selection of work the dedicated students and faculty at The Oslo School
of Architecture and Design (AHO) have produced during the academic year,
within the fields of architecture, landscape architecture and design.
This year we have chosen to focus on the educational programmes at AHO,
instead of the Institutes as we did in the first volume. The book presents many
different voices and perspectives, demonstrating the educational, academic and
professional diversity that is a part of AHO’s identity.
Highlights from the academic year precede the presentations of the educa-
tional programmes within Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Design. In
each chapter we introduce the reader to the actual study programme, after which
comes a personal perspective on the programme from one or more members of
faculty. This is then followed by selected student projects, from the foundation
and master levels. All the final Master’s projects (Diploma) are presented in a
separate chapter as they partly cut across educational programmes and insti-
tutes. The book concludes with an overview of the Institutes, their staff, and all
students enrolled for the academic year 2012-2013.
AHO WORKS STUDIES 2012-2013 continues the tradition of presenting
student work at AHO, through different publications and exhibitions such as
AHO WORKS STUDIO + DIPLOMA. AHO WORKS STUDIES is the second
volume of the series on education. Parallel to this we have also produced a series
on research. These two volumes, AHO WORKS STUDIES and AHO WORKS
RESEARCH, serve as important channels for disseminating two of the school’s
core activities: teaching and research.
As editor, I would like to congratulate and thank all the students and faculty
for their excellent work.
